Default Sport Quad capable of mudding?

How capable is taking a sport quad (Raptor 700R) through the mud? I don’t plan on going through any rivers or mud pits, mostly trails we have cut through on our property. The only mud I would encounter would be through a dry creek after it rains and fills up about 2 feet with water. And the occasional mudding in an open field. The other option would be to go with a Grizzly 660. But I would be giving up a lot of speed through the trails, right?

Thanks for the help!

Default Sport Quad capable of mudding?

umm . h mm i don't know man the grizz is great. i'm in the same perdicamit.. i was all gun hoe about my 400 ex that i wanted so bad but was thinking real hard about it and think i'm going to get kodiak or grizz insted. 2006 400 ex -- 5500 out the door or 2005 kodiak 450 --- 5600 out the door or 2005 grizz 6600 out the door. realy thinking about this one !! saw your pick looks doo able for a sport quad with a little will and a hug roost. i gess how deep and is it rocky? now mined you there is no ground clear on the raptor but you got like a foot on the grizz. 2 way different bike though What do you want is the big thing. i will be going 4x4 but i ride mud and trails farm land hills . and if you get some were and your stuck push 4x4 and go ! the raptor will be faster ( but the grizzly has speed too round 55-60ish) raptor will hug the trails better as ya it would be faster in the woods, but that's only fun if your racing othe sport quads through the trails, granted if your any good at riding a utility will hold it's oun (just takes more effert). MUD PIT TIME.... ok now y everyone is up to there fenders in mud 4wheel drive rocking back and forth just to see who will make it to the other side.. mean while your sitting on the side line whatching.. now this works 2 ways though if you like ungodly hills you'll be doing them while others whatch/ presher you into doing a realy big hill. keep in mine if you roll over in a mud hole pick it up and keep rideing (grizz)// raptor if you roll it down a hill there went all the money you saved.

hope this helps

Jr.

write back lets bs.

well the other weekedn i put my 300ex through water up to its handel bars and the stream was about 10 feet long with rocks uderneath and all i had to do was get it in 3rd and gun it across and i made it but deff scared the **** outa myself when it started to bog down the engine hakf way through lol but who cares as long as i made it some im sure if my 300ex can do that then the raptor 700 should have to problems with your stream just give it throttle all the way through and remember...."when in doubt throttle ur way out"
