Default Attack of the Chinese 250 cc ebay ATVS...

Anyone been on ebay lately and typed in a search for 250 cc atvs? There are so many different brand chinese models its astounding and yet, they all look similiar and seem to have the same engine type as far as its 250cc..and has 4 speed with reverse.electric start { but no backup kick starter which is a bummer} .etc...

Average price is around $1150-$$1500 shipped....are any of these decent ? I figure with the end of the year coming, the old 2006 models will even come down in price even more in 2 more months or so but if they are all Junk..then its not worth it IMHO...

Does anyone know of a webiste thats dedicated to just the chinese ATVS..with honest ratings and performance stats? ..Thanks

Don't waste your money. They are all junk.

For that price you can find a used 250EX and it will be way more reliable. I'd even take a 20 year old Honda over one of those brand new China-junk quads.

How many do you own ajd187?

Personally I dont own a 250cc Chinese quad but I bought a Kazuma Falcon 110 for my kids to ride and they have thrashed it for 2 seasons now without a problem.

Well I have been trying to track down reputable ratings on these different brand ATVS from China, but its hard to find such info.

I am mostly interested in the 250cc models and I have read that the Sunl model seems to have bad reviews..

I was wondwering if the other brands, like the Viva, or Rocketa, were more reliable. It seems as though the motors are generally reliable but the chasis, ball joints, shocks etc are not very strongly constructed,welded...I would think though, that certian brands are more reliable then other brands as far as the Chinese ATVS are concerned...

Well thats a good question. I guess my best response is im looking for the best performer for the money, keeping in mind that I wont be racing it or doing 20ft jumps with it...I am 6ft 6inches tall and weigh around 230 lbs and I was looking for something that would handle normal trail riding without constantly breaking down and would have a top speed of around 45 + mph.

Id like to stay under $2,000 and the closer to $1,500,,the better :}

I will say this, about 2 years ago I decided to buy a 4 stroke gas scooter..150cc engine. The Hondas were selling for around $3,000 or more. I decided to go to ebay and buy a chnese version sold by Wildfire motors. For $1,300 I got a 150 c.c brand new scooter delivered to my door. Ive had it 2 years and havent had 1 problem with it. So far I put around 1700 miles on it and it pulls me around 50 mph. But I realize the 4wheelers are gonna need to be able to take much more abuse then a scooter so trying to compare the 2 would be like comparing apples to oranges .

I was just wondering if anyone knew that 1 certain chinese brand was more reliable and better constructed then the other chinese brands. So far, Ive seen about 7 different brand name chinese scooters but they all seem to have the same motor and gear setups { 4 stroke with 4 speeds and reverse} . They also all seem to have electric start but they dont seem to have a backup kick starter..which suxxxx

rumme,

I would have to go with ajd187 on the TRX250EX. You can find plenty of good used quads out there you just have to watch those ads.

If you are set on purchasing a Chinese quad and being that your 6'6" you may want to look at the newer models that are coming out. Here is an example. BMS 250. If you look at the pics they have a comparison with the 250 and a 150 side by side. It gives you a better perspective of the quads size. Also I know nothing about the dealer that this pic came from I only used the pics as an example of what is out there. Here is a site that sells the same quad but in a 300cc for $200 less than the 250cc.

The quads are a lot more than you want to spend so consider the used Honda or even the Suzuki 250.

Jetmoto has a new 250 that will hopefully release in the next few months. You can purchase it thru Raceway.

Good Luck.

SB.

I own 0, and will continue to do so. The reviews I have read scared me off.

Is this one??http://www.powersportsnetwork.com/en...e.asp?veh=6527 If it is than there are alot of unhappy people.

I sold a 89 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4 for only $1100 Canadian ($950 U.S) and I think the person will get many more trouble free miles out of it than a new Chinese 250cc 2x4 ATV.
