Retort to what??? He hasn't said anything!

Btw, nice pic of you doing a wheelie with your 6 yr old nephew on the back of that quad. I'm sure that pic is a "poster of safety" and doesn't feed any ammo to whomever it is that thinks they can outlaw quads.. LOL. But hey, at least you have helmets on.... eh? [IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>

Thanks . Of course to someone who doesn't notice details , and wasn't there to ACTUALLY see what took place , it may appear as unsafe . Might i point out that the quad is in no danger of flipping over for several reasons , 1: The rear bumper is installed to prevent that very thing in which you first judged , it cannot tip over ! 2: A quick tap of the throttle and the clutch setup i had in there would allow the front end to come up at will , and by applying the rear brake at the right moment , causes the machine to balance , and simple adjustments with gas and brake facilitate this manouever in a perfectly safe manner at less than walking pace . 3: I am a skilled rider who has been riding since i was 6 myself , and feel confident in my abilities to the point that i would feel ABSOLUTELY NO DANGER in placing him in that situation .</end quote></div>

I think someone could argue the nephew could fall off the back. I don't know. Really its none of my business.

So, I assume you are NOT in favor of passing a law against riding double? How do you feel about a helmet law? Since you are skilled enough to ride with a youngen on the back like that, can you also ride confidently w/o a helmet? Or do you need to be told by the government how to ride?

Not true! If I get killed on a quad, how will your life change? What? They gonna make you wear a helmet? LOL, don't you already? They're not going to outlaw quads,,, they bring in too much money. Just like they can't outlaw cars or motorcycles. The root problem is people trying to imposse their will on others in the name of safety.

</end quote></div>

Are you old enough to remember 3 wheelers (ATC's)?

Exactly what you are doing is the reason ATC's are gone. Quads most definitely could be next.

I cant wait to see the 6 wheel even safer atv they have to come up with next. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]</end quote></div>

As far as I understand it, the manufacturers agreed to stop making atcs because 1) quads were selling better. 2) Legal crap. It has never been illegal to make and market an atc to my knowledge. And I think the agreement expired 10yrs ago anyway. So, whats stopping them from making them now? No market for them is what. Its just not at all likely we will ever see quads banned from manufacture or sale in the US in our lifetimes. I'm 35 btw. We may see the states cracking down on riding on public land due to environmental issues, but not safety issues. Here in GA, the state maintains trails just for atv's (including atc's). They routinely remove rocks, logs, and make jumps for tax payers to enjoy. I hardly thing the state will turn around and stop doing that anytime soon. They may start charging admission,,, and then helmet requirements may follow for insurance purposes though. Of course that will also take care of riding double and you may even have to have safety checks and buy stickers before riding. Who knows.... Everybody will just ride somewhere else if it gets too untolerable. You'd be hard pressed to find a homeowned that didn't have a quad stuffed in his garage around here. Too many people to hold back.</end quote></div>

ATC's were banned because of the amount of injuries and deaths that occurred on them.

You know,,, I don't think anyone can argue a helmet law issue with me as long as they have pictures on their bio of people on quads NOT wearing a helmet! WTF? Furthermore, I don't think anyone has any credibility to preach about "quad safety" when 90% of the pics on their bio are of them doing wheelies, burnouts, flipping over backwards, and performing dangerous stunts with children.... Regardless of riding gear. Just can't listen to hypocritical double talk. But I'm not pointing any fingers.

How's that for a retort?</end quote></div>

Shame on me for not putting a helmet on the kiddo while riding the power wheels. But hey, in New Hampshire, that's ok.

I don't think anyone here is pointing fingers, well at you anyway.

For me its about limiting the risks, not eliminating them. Even if everyone on here rides double, and without helmets? Still wouldnt make it smart or safe.

What on earth does that have to do with riding double without helmet's on a quad?

Why do you think i am arguing a helmet law with you , i never said anything to that effect ?[IMG][/IMG]

Preaching about quad safety ?! Seriously dude , are you arguing with your shadow ? Put down the crack pipe . As far as credibility goes , maybe you should pay a little more attention to the facts presented to you before you go picking a fight with someone who placed a random comment on a thread . If you're looking for someone to argue with just for the sake of having nothing else to do , look somewhere else .</end quote></div>

Then what did you mean by, "Go ahead and comment , I'd like to hear what you have to say in retort . " ??? I must have took it wrong,,, my apologies.... sorry. I guess I was swinging at anyone who stepped in the circle, lol.

But that wasn't just directed at you. Anybody who wants to argue in favor of a helmet law, better have pics that show helmets on anyone sitting on a quad or at least helmets in their laps or the hypocritical flag starts waving. Same thing with the riding double business. And anyone who points out "we need to set a good example" should also take their own medicine.

Again, sorry I took your comment wrong.</end quote></div>

What i meant is exactly what i said , i wanted to hear your reply to MWQ for what he said . Clearly you were just looking to take a swing at anyone who stepped in the ring !! If you are implying that my pics show anyone without helmets on , you need to take a closer look .

Apology accepted , if it indeed is just more than words .
