Hello,

Im looking for an ATV for trail riding. I need one that has around a 250cc engine and is 2wd. My price range is no more than $3000 new or used...

I need some suggestions lol

Unless you hit the off-brands, it will have to be used - although not VERY used.

You should be able to find a year old Suzuki Ozark/Z250, Honda Recon/TRX250 - those are probably the best chioces. You may even be able to find a "new" model onthe showroom for that price if it's last years model.

Do you want an auto or foot-shift? Is it your first quad? I know a lot of people get a Trailblazer 330 or a used 250 for a first machine. They're under $3,900 brand new. I don't know if you can find anything cheaper. After a few years a lot of people trade up to bigger quads so there should be used ones available. Test ride it first because a lot of people, especially women and kids, do ZERO maintenance and there could be problems. There are lots of other quads that are probably just as good, as long as they aren't Chinese. I had a 250 but it didn't have enough power for my fat @$$ so I got another Sportsman 500.

And if anyone is wondering... no, I don't care if you buy a Polaris or not. And I'm not trying to convince anyone else they should. I just know Trailblazers are really popular because I see them all the time.

The 250's are all good choices, either sport or utility, whichever you prefer. If you want a full-on sport quad, you should be able to find an older used 400EX in that price range, or a 2wd Rancher if you want a ute.

Yeah, my dad and I looked at a 400EX today... lol he says it has too much power.

So, i was looking at some of the 250EX's, but they are all semi-auto (I want a manual)

We also found a 250 Suzuki Ozark that we might check out.

Im also going to start looking for a suzuki quad sport (older).

Sound good?

Thanks for the help!

I ended up getting a 1996 Honda 300EX for $1300 It was in amazing condition (looked like it was only used a few times) and came with rear paddles and front sand tires.

Its SWEET!
