Yea, it's IRS with no sway bar. If it bugs me too much I'll add a sway bar but for right now it's for off roading and mudding. If I understand correctly I don't want a sway bar for that, right?

Having a sway bar shouldn't make much difference in mud, all other atv manufacturers put sway bars on their IRS quads. The only thing it might hurt it is in wheel articulation, suspension won't be able to flex as much in extreme situations. But having a sway bar will make the quad more controllable and less scary during higher speed cornering due to less body roll.

If your happy with the quad, and don't feel the need to add one, then by all means keep riding! I am sure you will learn how the quad handles and adjust how you ride to fit accordingly. The main thing is to have fun.

Yea, I'm going to leave the sway bar off unless I get dangerously close or something.

I'm probably going to become a regular at this forum now since I have a bike ; I be hoppin' on your bandwagon, fool!

Thanks guys! One last question though, when you supe your ride up where do you guys order your parts from? Or do you just get it done in your hometown?

Mine have all been stock and I liked all of them except my 250 didn't have enough power. I traded it in for another 500 and never had any more regrets. Personally I think it's better to buy what you want than to try to make something else work. Anyone who needs more power needs a bigger engine, not a bunch of mods, IMO. I seem to be a minority in my opinion though.

You can go to your dealer, or just find some good online aftermarket shops. Rocky Mountain ATV, Dennis Kirk are a couple that comes to mind. Depends on what you need, those two have a broad selection but others might carry more specialized parts/accessories.

Alright, I just finished painting it. I'll have pictures later on today, I think.

there will be a noticable increase in power with the addition of a pipe, performance filter, and a rejet.

In my case, my 500 Vinson (which may be the same engine you have in your cat) got a HMF utility series pipe (with the "quiet core") a UNI filter, and I installed a Dial-A-Jet so that adjusting to differing altitudes is a simple turn of a screwdriver...the power increase was significant, and regained the power I lost by going to larger Mudlite tires

How do you like the Uni filter? I would personally choose that or No-Toil over K&N, even though I've never owned any of them.

the K&N is a better RACING filter, as it allows more air flow, but doesn't do as good a job of filtering...you would need to clean it just about after every ride to make sure your engine wasn't pulling in the dirt (racers change them out, or use the K&N filterskins, after every race)

The UNI is an excellent filter, is very easy to clean, and doesn't require nearly as much maintenance as the K&N
