Default dont buy yamaha

So I contacted yamaha customer relations, 1-800-962-7926 and they contacted me with a product specialist who at first was at least sympathetic with my issue.they wanted to know the dealer,(#366720) and while I was talking to them they contacted him and he told the product specialist that he thought it was due to impact, yea he went behind my back and totally changed his story to keep him from having to deal with this issue,or having to deal with yamaha anymore.Needless to say he is now not a dealer anymore and I'm stuck with an inferior product that the manufacturer wont stand behind due to a dealer that screwed me to save his own self.So you tell me whats next? Law suit, take it to another dealer, thats gonna contact yamaha and they're gonna say yea we already heard about this....and yes Ihave pics and contact numbers if you want to check out my integridy......So there you go , you wanted me to elaberate on why I said what I did.If you want to help with some suggestions , or imput, I'm more than happy to listen. thanks for reading.....

You just need a dealer to agree with you that the frame is defective, and for them to not tell yamaha otherwise. I would not expect a problem getting the frame replaced after that point.

It almost sounds like the frame was damaged somehow before assembly/paint, otherwise it seems unlikely it would be bent without stress signs in the paint. Again, it would be nice to know what atv model we are talking about here, but I know from experience that stock Yamaha tie rods are fairly weak, and are the first things to give in the case of a front wheel impact. Likewise the stock front bumpers on the newer sport quads are also the weak point/bend first. The bumper on the Warriors looks pretty solid though... Was this a belly skid you were putting on? Which brand?

Now I am not trying to start anything or tread on anyones toes, and yes it sounds like you are getting screwed over...but at the same time I see these 'Don't buy x-brand' in EVERY forum, in EVERY manufacturers section. There is always someone who has a horrible customer service experience with every single brand. If we were to listen to them all the time, there would be no more manufacturers to buy from.

Point is, all the manufacturers try to get out of paying warantee work on someones quad at some point or another. It is sad and I feel for ya man.

do we know what model this was yet??

weve owned yamaha, honda, you name it, for years. i would buy another yamaha without hesitation...

their customer service is not great but whose really is? your dealer screwed you on this and YOU should have not let them drag butt for weeks on it. The dealer should have seen this upon assembly. maybe they did it, repainted it and covered it up to cover someones @ss there. That happens in that industry and on auto lots. Damged cars repainted and sold to the public as new, never damged units. Why do you think they give a checklist now when you buy a car and walk around it with you? that is THEIR way of saying you looked at it and didnt see antyhing wrong with it. However if you catch overspray somewhere they are in hot water.

You have to stay on anyones customer service to get anything done. You cant just call them and say i want a new quad without some kind of resistance or a way to prove it to them. id confront the dealer with the deal of no future business from you or those you know, tell them you will get a lawyer and get the lawyer to write them and yamaha a letter- that legally puts them on notice. you typically see some sort of movement after that. Lawyers do not charge allot for that. If you know one personally they will usually just do it free. and then do not deal with that dealer anymore. they evidently to not have your back, they are stabbing you in the back.

thanks for the support.btw it is a raptor 250, and yes I agree the 'dealer' shafted me on this. The worst part is that he not a dealer anymore so he doesnt care, and believe me i told him he lost my business and any other i can . the skid plate is an AC racing brand the quality of there products are pretty good.Yamaha should have recognized there are issues with this dealer and send someone to look at it and deal with me personally. I understand thers always someone crying about something, and complaining about certain manufacturers , I guess i just wanted to get this out there and maybe someone from yamaha would read this or get wind of it, and yes litigation is still not out of the question......thanks

Yeah it does suck having such an experience, and most of the time it leaves a bad taste for that manufacturer. Just saying, I've seen someone complain about every single manu about customer service or about the manu screwing them over about a serious problem/defect. As to the dealer issue, yes Yamaha should of done something about them, but at the same time there are manu's who have less stringent requirements. I guess one bad apple slipped thru.

Yamaha won't spend thousands more than the cost of replacing your frame by taking you to court. If it gets to that point, they will definitely settle.
