I have a 2005 Kazuma Lacoste 150. A few weeks ago I was riding through the trails on my quad and it just stopped. every time I hit the throttle something sounded like it was grinding. I bought the quad used and the guy who owned before me had the chain sort of loose. since my dad was a mechanic and owned and worked on many motorcycles he thought it was the transmission. We took the transmission apart and the gears were stripped. we purchased new gears online and had them shipped from colorado. we put in the new gears and it worked ok but it was like not as powerful as it used to be. but one day i was out riding and the same thing happened again. we have not taken it apart yet and i need to fix it before i can sell it, if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it. THANKS

 

Title says "What's Wrong". Answer, it's a low quality cheapo off brand! There is a lesson to be learned here...folks.

 

I'm thinking the quality just sucks. Time for a new, better quality quad.

My buddy has two Kazumas. Both are sitting unrepairable in his back yard. He maybe got a year of riding out of them.
