ATV for my 5 year old
My son is 5 and a half now and has been riding a yamaha grizzley 90 for about 6 months now. We have the govenor set at about 8 mph and he never gets out of site and always has that dead serious focused look on his face when riding!. He usually goes about 50 feet and the turns aroun. He likes to goose it a little when making the turn...Like father like son..lol
When he was 3.5yro he would drive his electric JD gator to the top of my steep driveway, turn around and come hauling down and then let off the pedal and do a 180 powerslide... trying to find video

I'm thinking about buying my 6 year old a grizzly 80 or arctic-cat 90. The only drawback I have for the grizzly is the three speed transmision. I was curious if your son shifts gears or not.

Hey Big....
No My son does not shift gears. I set the govenor and let him stay in 1st gear. Shifting for him now just complicates things and would put him over the mph limit that I feel comfortable with..
After every 5 or so times he rides I'll raise the govenor just a hare.

So it operates fine in 1st gear without shifting if it's governed down enough? Thanks, that's good information.
