Tim1 is absolutely right about the Polaris 4 wheel drive system. Thumbs up to Tim1.

I was in the same boat. I already had an '89 warrior and I bought the 44" Swisher tow behind ($800)to cut 1 acre and used the Swisher as leverage with the wife to keep the quad. I also bought a plow for the quad. Needless to say the warrrior is not made for this, no traction for plowing, tough on the clutch. Gearing too tall for for cutting grass (even w/small tires/ sprockets)and got too hot, reco liquid cooling.
Sold the quad before it broke and bought a cheap tractor - hate it. Love the cut of the Swisher(mulcher). Now use Swisher w/tractor - 80" cut. They also have a 60"($1300), may be overkill for 1/2 acre. Reco stay away from full time 4wd and big tires. Consider atv w/tight turning radius.
