I am brand new to the ATV scene and I am trying to decide what kind of atv to buy. I know I want a four-stroke sport atv and have pretty much narrowed it down to Honda 300ex,400ex or a Yamaha Warrior. I know the Honda name is great, but I don't know as much about the Yamaha name. Is Yamaha as reliable as Honda?? I have ridden a friend's Warrior, but I have not ridden a 400ex.
P.S. Which handles better??

my dads 300ex handles better than my warrior but the warrior is faster. Honda is very very reliable. But if you keep ur quad in good condtion and dont abuse it it should be fine. I would go with the 400ex it smooth and reliable and hecka fast. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

this is the best advice i can offer, get all the FACTS not the OPINIONS. my mistake was buying before i knew how or what kind of riding is was going to like. buy the magazines! try to get what you want the first time.

questions to ask yourself
1. what kind of riding will i be doing? racing? trails only? jumping? slides? donuts?
2. what engine size of machine? 300 400 250 300 660?
3. how big are you? tall? heavy? small?
4. constant 4x4?
5. reliability? kawi? yamaha? polarias(not)?
6. are planning to modify? if so, what mods? easy? difficult?
7. talk to people and see what they like/don't like about their machines.
8. how heavy of a machine?
9. + anything else i left out

 

Most of todays quads are very reliable unless abused.
400EX does not have reverse.
