I am 17 6'4'' and around 170, i was wondering what anyone would suggest on me buying?? the type of riding i do is a lot of trail riding, but i may one day want to do some comppettive riding. I was thinking about a warrior, or 300/400ex, but also a scrambler 500 4x4, granted the obvious price difference, but i really like the 4x4 on that quad. any suggestion is helpful.

LouDog, of the ones you mentioned the Scrambler is the roomiest, followed by the 400EX, the Warrior, & the 300EX. I'm 6' and my wife's 300EX feels pretty small to me, but there are some tall guys who'll tell you their 300 fits them like a glove.

As far as racing, the 400EX is faster, jumps higher, & corners harder than any of the others.

For mud bogging, the Polaris will run off and leave all the 2x4's.

Everyone I know that owns a Polaris spends more time in the shop than riding it. The 400EX is a bullet proof quad. The Warrior is a good quad also. I'd say "bang for the buck" go for the 400EX.

Well, I'm 6'5" and 175 lbs. ride a friends 300EX from time to time, and will tell you, it's way too small for me. It's an excellent bike, but if you ride for a long time, you'll be uncomfortable. Sounds like you and I are similarly built (tall and thin), and the 300EX isn't for me. Try it out though, if you are really interested. Almost forgot, what the guy said about Polaris, I agree with him 100%. Uncle has 2 Polaris's, spend more time greasing them and working on them than he does riding, and they are only a year old. The more people I have talked to in regards to Polaris's, the more I realize, I want no part of owning one!!!!

I also agree about Polaris reliability record,it sucks.I own a new 99 and 00 model, both ATVs are allways in the shop for worn out parts.I'd shy away from Polaris in the future.
