i went to a dealership with my friend today so he can buy some parts for his quad when we saw 2 cannibals sitting in the showroom. we asked the saleslady how much it would cost otd and she said $6900. my friend told the lady that i'm waiting for the z-400's to come out but if she can match my otd price on the z-400 ($6480 otd) that i would buy the c-dale instead. she did some numbers crunching and after a few minutes she came up with $6570 otd. did i make a good decision by buying the c-dale and not waiting for the z-400? i hope i did cuz i don't wanna be in the dunes and have someone with a z-400 blow me away.

not too many people can blow past you a z400, as thier not out yet...
but eventually, there may be a few that will beat you up the hill, after the aftermarket & good engine builders have thier way with the Z400.
in stock form they may be a good match for the cannibal, but time will tell.
at least your riding NOW, and they're still waiting.

honest truth

I think you did the right thing! I'm fond of the C-Dales, but the new Z alos looks like one helluva quad. I don't think you should worry about being beat in a drag race. If thats all you want to do, get a 'Shee.

well, looks like i spoke too soon. i can still get the quad for that price BUT i found out, right before i was gonna go to the bank and hand them a lump sum, that these damn things are "red stickered" here in st00pid sunny california. dammit, that's bs. i was gonna go riding tomorrow but now i have to stay home and wait for the z-400. this truly sucks. WHERE IS MY Z400?!?!?!?!?!
i want it dammit.

What does "red stickered" mean, and why would this prevent you from buying the quad, or riding it?
I have never heard this term before.

sorry that i failed to explain, but here in californicate a red stickered quad means that you can't ride in certain areas and you can only ride on certain times of the year. st00pid smog laws that those freakin' hippies passed. damn tree huggers.

what if you register out of state? go to oregon & get an ORV tag there(once every 2 years, $15, no residency needed i believe... also gives you a reason to hit oregon dunes once every two years).... maybe nevada or arizona?

I think you made the right choice. Not to much is known about the Z400. I would invested the extra money and got the C-Dale Speed though. If Honda doesn't make a bigger Quad soon I'm going to seriously look at the Speed!!! And I am a die hard Honda Lover. Hate to do it but C-Dale is built right here in Good ole PA!!!

Hondamarshal, You should have gotten the speed to begin with. It may not look the best, but from all that I read, the speed is awesome.
