With his size and wanting to race in the future. I would have to agree that the 400ex, ltz400, or kxf400 would be the best choices. All are great machines. The kxf and ltz have reverse and are liquid cooled. I have heard of people giving these machine for around $5k to $5300 OTD. F&S in Dayton, Ohio reatils the Z400 for $5299. Have him ride a Suzuki and a Honda and see which one he like better. If still undecided. Ask him red, yellow, white, green, & I think Kawie is going to have a black one. Only problem is if he picks yellow. Personally for trail riding the reverse will come in handy.
