it was at a shop in anderson, i saw a used one too with racks, the racks are kind of a waste, they wouldn't be big enough to put anything on.
after much searching, deliberation and test rides, I am picking up a new kodiak 450. at 42.7" wide, they are the smallest of the 4x4 models, and they have the best turning radius. they are only a couple of inches wider then the 200 and 250 models. I decided if i'm going to spend the $, I might as well get 4 wheel drive because there are a quite a few places i ride were it would make things a lot easier.
thanks for all of the replies!
p.s. now it's time to accessorize and look for mild performance gains!

you said you were going to do some land maintainenece with bike. What are you pulling/hauling.\? i'm afraid a light ATV may just spin if you are dragging much of anything [logs or stumps]. I all you want is a toy, get the toy, but it won't do much work. Kodiak /Eiger class can haul hay.

got the kokiak today. went on a real short ride, we are in the middle of a big snow storm, so i couldn't do to much. I am already 2nd guessing my decision, the kokiak looks alot bigger when I am going down the trails then it did in the showroom, maybe i'll get used to it though (i hope)

i have a ozark. i go through a lot of tight woods with mine, its nice because when you are making your own trail its usually small enough to get between the trees. i also have experience with the kawasaki 220 bayou, that one goes really well through tight woods too. both of them have no problem climing over fallen trees and brush. in 2nd gear you can go through a lot of stuff. i would much rather have one of those for hunting or screwing around in the woods than a big 4x4, yes the 4x4 can go through more, but they are much bigger than the ozark, 220 bayou, and the recon.

I owned that same model. It had great power and was tough as nails. They do get around well but are not real stable compared to a 4 wheeler. You should be used to 3 wheels though. They are shaft drive which cuts down on maintainace.

i have looked at their website before, they do look like a neat machine, but they seem to be awfully expensive to me, plus, I was wanting more rack space then what the rokon's offer.
I have already purchased an 03 kodiak 450, it was a little bigger then i had planned, but after thinking about it, i didn't want to be without the 4 wheel drive. I have about 8 hours on it, and it is a blast to ride! You can go up and over about anything! It is a bear getting down some of my tighter trails though, I have already cracked the back fender and the front fenders where the floorboards mount.
