Default 04 DS 650 with problems

Well I just bought the quad the other day and got it cheap cause it didn't run. Guy said it didn't have spark. And it doesn't.. One thing I noticed is that it will only spin over if the kill switch is in the off position. Also wen it spins over with both the plugs installed it makes a bad screaching noise. It has to be the motor internals or starter but with one plug out it doesn't make a noise. I did a compression test and it had 90 psi. One more thing. Wat is the correct way to check oil in these? Just like a car or does it need to run for a few seconds and then check? Thank's very much guys for any help at all.

first thing I would do is pull the flywheel and confirm there is no damage there. 2nd thing I would try is to drain and contain the oil . this might give clues to a problem. also on the bottom of the oil tank under the headlight is a nipple that holds the hose onto the tank, remove it and see how the screen looks. hopefully its something easy to fix.... the guys on this fourm are ds guys and can get you up and going if you keep them posted...
