The worst part of it all is when you bring it to the dealer and tell them." My friend rolled it....."

My polaris wasn't as heavy as your can am, and it bent the stem pretty easily. Mine looks like it was a whole lot easier to replace too.

Looking at the other link, be a good idea to take a real good look at the stem mount too.

That should be under a government ordered safety recall. Steering comes in handy in many situations.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) step in on the 2011 model Polaris Ranger RZR XP 900 and that was just a heat shield http://www.polaris.com/en-us/company...?articleID=142

I would call their hotline number and get the war started.
To report a dangerous product or a product-related injury go online to www.SaferProducts.gov or call CPSC’s Hotline at (800) 638-2772 or teletypewriter at (301) 595-7054 for the hearing impaired. Consumers can obtain news release and recall information at www.cpsc.gov, on Twitter @OnSafety or by subscribing to CPSC’s free e-mail newsletters.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to this product recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. Please tell us about your experience with the product on SaferProducts.gov.
Call them Beergut, you'll be famous. LOL

Steering is right up there with brakes in importance, as a necessary feature.

One job I hated to do when people flipped or rolled a Polaris. Front cabs, headlight pods, etc would have to be removed and fuel tanks moved back far enough to get the old shaft out and the new one in..

Maybe you could have them install a gyroscope while it's in the shop. Just to help keep it upright.
