Back from Pizmo!
Here is a question I have been wondering about for awhile now, Why not get your gearing and paddle setup so you can actually use first? I was told awhile ago that Sparks is running high gearing with less paddles. makes since to me. get your tires speed up really quick without having to spinout to do it. The more i think about it it seams that would be the most effective way of getting the HP to the sand. Next comes the swingarm factor. If you was running a +6 or +8 you would have less weight over the paddles thus the paddles would have less bite. So it could be possible that a 10 paddle tire on a +8 swingarm would act as well as a 7 paddle on a +4. I have seen where being over paddled can just kill your performance and if you have higher gearing that could easily happen. It is all about tire speed. The one difference though is if you get a 20" tire you can increase your tire speed by ultimatly lowering your gearing again BUT you loose disatance traveld per rotation and also the floatation of the larger dia tire. I know jeff and Scoob probably know all of this but i was just sharing for all to see.
man now I have a headache, too much philosophy there and it is hard to look at it all, but in the short I think going to less paddles would be the way for you to go Jeff, JMHO.
