Tony,
If you re-program your curves, then yes, you do have to be careful. But, I have heard of no one with any problems with the vortex CDI "out of the box", including myself. If you are going to screw with the timing, you betting know what you are doing. The pre-programmed timing curves in the Vortex CDI are all good. The only need to re-program some of the curves is to eliminate or change where the rev-limiter is.

okay guys I will start ordering parts. But for the final answer is if I have to run race gas might as well run as much compression as possible. so are you guys saying piston and cams and doing port work later. Is there anything I can do to the head myself. I have good experience with cars and bikes.
will this work
A1 A2 cams
14.1
headwork and a lectron ( running out of jets for stock carb)
what is the head porting turn around.

fastone21,
The 14:1 piston, and A1A2 cams are a good choice. Dont forget to add in performance valve springs. You can get them from Web (the shim under bucket kind), or Ron Wood Racing (good but you float the valves and you are taking chances). As far as head porting, my mechanic did mine in about a three week turnaround, once he got them. But, everyone else had thier own times.

ironrod you could go to northwect solvents in eugene and buy a 55gallon barrel of 120 and mix 3 and two super it give about a 109 mix, the barrel is $231 or it was like 201 for a barrel of 110
