Thennnnn.... my GPS lies?! Or are you referring to only a stock "geared" quad and not just a stock quad?
Because my stock motor, will pull my stock quad... over 100mph. However, the gearing is NOT stock.

CHeck out this web page of "eaglecollectors"....here. Plug your numbers in and you get 105. You say WOOHOO...I told you so. Here is where the party gets broke up....the graph does not take into account wind resistance or any drag. Ever roll a window down at 100 and stick your arm out? The wind feels like it is gonna pull your arm off does'nt it? This is RESISTANCE. They is no possible way a 40-some horsepower (mind you thats peak....you are way past peak power at the end of the rpm range....you may have 25 at the rev limiter at best) engine is gonna push a 500 pound quad and a rider too 100mph. Not gonna happen...lets be realistic.

Also, with the proper gearing...IF you are revving at a certain RPM...you will be going at the speed relative to it on the calculator. THE ONLY WAY that you are not reaching those speeds at that certain RPM is because your clutch is slipping or your tires are spinning. Wind resistance will slow you down by adding more load on the engine..hence not allowing you to wind out as much..

Well gary, looks like we started quit a stir from our initial conversation back on the yamaha forum. A couple of race shops in CA E-mailed me and seemed to agree that it can be done on a DS because that is the set up they use for their desert Racing teams. I've read E-mails claiming from 98 to 101.5 with this set up. So if that many race teams are sticking by their claims and with the combination of the Dirtwheels story, it seems that it is at least possible to go 100mph on an internally stock DS650. This much evidence and claims of witness are enough to convince me that it is possible.

Well lets see it!! I for one HOPE the DS could do it, but I have my doubts. The DS motor is really strong on top, but Gary is right about the wind resistance.
So let see if someone hear can do it and video tape it!!
Bigger.

I provide obvious straight-forward information and you guys still have the blinders on. Any shop will tell you what you want too hear too sell their product. GIVE ME AN EXPLANATION AS TOO HOW JOHNNYAIRTIME CAN POSSIBLY RUN 100 MPH IN REALITY WHEN HE ONLY RUNS 105 IN MAKE BELIEVE LAND WITH NO AIR OR FRICTIONAL LOSSES? Step up and give me realistic info.....not pointing too someone else and saying he says this or he says that.
