Default NEED TRANNY HELP!!!!

Tonite at the dirt drags i took my three time trials and on the third one when i tried to shift to 4th it stayed in 3rd, i tried again and the same happened, on the third attempt it finally shifted to 4th. I was sitting way back on the seat so i figured it was me. First race everything went well. Second race it did the same thing but this time it wouldn't shift from 2nd to 3rd, tried again and it shifted from 2nd to 4th!!!! Of course i lost this time.

Went to the losers bracket and the first race it did fine. Second race wouldn't shift from 3rd to 4th again, tried again and it went from 3rd to 5th!!!!!

You guys know i don't curse on here but....WTF is going on, please tell me there is a linkage in there that is out of adjustment and no bent forks or bad gears.

Only other time anything weird happened was shifting from 3rd to 4th and found neutral. That only happened once and that was 3 months ago!! No probs since!!

HELP..........

Dave

OK i'm back. How much am i looking at? $$$$$$$ I have no problem with top end but i've never split cases before. Probably have someone do that job for me.

Seems like forks are around $195, right?

Hmm... Well the forks are what aid the sifting process. It it does not shift its probaly the forks.. You should check your adjustment maybe for some reason the basket is not pulling all they way out.. make sure you can roll the bike while in gear and the clutch depressed.. The only other thing I can think of is the forks.. I doubt its the clutch plates as you still have power..

Help him out guys....

I did a search and found prices. It never has popped out of a gear so i assume the dogs are OK. Seems weird 2 forks going at the same time.

I do have a lot of freeplay in my lever (short fingers) but it rolls fine and never pulls when its in gear and i rev it up. Ya think i should take out some of the slack and try it, or could further damage happen if it is the forks?
