Default Another darn JETTING question....

Thanks 'snots'.

I'm gonna assume now, that the jet I have is a Dyno.

And if it is....
Does everyone's DYNO have a DJ before the size?!??!??!
With Hightowers comment about "no groove" and a "round head".... I'm lookin' towards a Dyno I think.
I'll know when I pull the jet agaaaain tonight.

I'm more excited now...
Closer to getting this darn thing resolved.

Thanks Dez....

I've had a friend use him in the past.
Worked on his Banshee.... But didn't have "great" results.

I think we need to delete this WHOLE post now....
HIGHTOWER just shed some serious light on the whole subject.

I PULLED THE WRONG JET!!

That's what I get for never working on this type of vacuum carb.....
It's not like my dirt bike carbs... well, similar. But that jet just... called my name. And it was the wrong one! Now I've got to go home and take care of the issue.... no wonder!!!

Anyway...
I'm researching good mechanics in SD for the Bomb... and when I need one. But Fox is always a consideration. As well as Sam... even though he's burned people on large jobs.

What about the guys at Alba up in Poway. (My old home town) I've read a lot of articles in the mags saying good things about them.

Allen Fox is the Best you will find. There is a reason his engines win in the Desert. You are the only person I have ever heard say anything bad. I would stay far away from Sam. Allen has taken great care of my 250r. He will be seeing my DS in a couple weeks to get it ready for the Baja 1000.

Snake....
you must be talkn about Alba?? The dealership. If so, I don't like dealerships. There's one by my house... I could almost ride my quad there. I even know the manager of service really well. So well, he let me do my own warranty work on my CBR929 when I had it. And he let me do that since he knew his mechanics were mostly monkeys... or the fact I'm too picky to let someone touch my stuff.

And Dez....
I wasn't saying "bad" things... I just know a friend had troubles. With any business.... there's issues. And for all I know, my friend could have been the problem. Who knows... there's always two sides to the story. My point being... I'd try Fox... I've never used him and have good things from others that have used him. I just didn't go that far into detail last post.

okay....
Final outcome;

Main - 190 mikuni
Starter - 45 mikuni
Pilot - 47.5 mikuni
Needle - 3 from top (Alba needle, 6 positions)

Open PPD airbox
Ron Woods pipe

I have yet to try this setup... but Alba strongly recommended it and said it's on their race Bomb.

Click on the camera under my login avatar and you'll see the pictures of the exploded carb and what the parts are called. Look closely at item 21 and 22. They're the same jet, but different sizes! Meaning... it was easy to mistake one as the other when installing. Location of where they are in the carb is the key. Check those pictures!!
