Will a 12V 14A battery work for a DS??
Hey guys,
I went to Walmart and they only had 12 volt, 14 amp batteries... There were some with 12 amps too...but no 13s....
These were Energizer batteries for ATV/Motorcycle use with vibration protection for off-road use... They were 50$ Canadian (35 USD) and I think I would trust Energizer/Eveready for my DS...
What do you guys think?? I need a battery before the labor day weekend!!

If it fits, it'll be fine. The AH (amp/hour) rating doesn't directly influence cranking power, but rather how long it will take to drain the battery - say you left you lights on. A 14 can put out an amp of current for one hour longer than a 13....and so on.

Nope. Sport 400 was right and the amp hour rating just means it will last longer. Trust me, I used to build batteries for a living. Thank goodness now all I do is ride my DS[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img].

Lol... Just to make sure... There was some kind of code on the box of the battery on sticker (Generic boxes with different stickers that the code was on)..
The code was like 12V-14A then there was another number after and maybe another one in the middle...I forget...
So if it fits physically, I'm good to go?
BTW, this is an acid-filled Eveready/Energizer battery... Is that a good way to go?

You worry too much. If you toast all your wiring you get to find out where all them wires go when you fix it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. Just kidding. As long as you don't put in a 6 or 24 volt battery you won't have any problems[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img].
