Default Greasing up a DS.

Hi All from the UK,
I have a newly acquired DS 650 Baja and have not managed to get my hands on a workshop manual yet. I was hoping you kind gentlemen could help me with what type of grease I should be using to lubricate the ball joints, a-arms and swinging arm. The factory applied grease appears to be purple in colour, is it synthetic? I obviously don’t want to mix this with something incompatible so any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know if this is the right stuff... or the best stuff...

But I use Polaris Premium grease fitting grease... It's waterproof and all that crap... I'm not 100% sure if it's synthetic or not... It's purple too...

Works fine so far...

Jeff

I run a marine grease , cos its waterproof , and i pump fresh stuff in about once a month ...that way the sand dosn't get in and act like sandpaper on the joints....

any good waterproof grease will do !

Thanks guys but what I’m bothered about is putting grease in that’s not compatible with the factory grease already in there, the purple stuff. Do you know if it specifies a particular sort or grade in the Bombardier workshop manual?

Thanks for the information, I guess what you are all saying is I’m being too fussy trying to match up exactly the same grease. Ill get some good quality marine stuff and use that.

Its fun riding the DS on the road Mud Stud but I would give anything to have the free access to the riding land you guys can use. Over here if you don’t own it you can’t ride on it, We don’t have the same public access rights you lot have.
