Default Please help with thie electircle issue...

Ok,
Issue - The battery does not seem to keep a chargs, must be push started.

Once its been running it will restart the same day. But if it sits for a day or more it dies. I thought it was my extra lights I was running so I disconnected them and same issue. I put a trickle charge on it for 40 minutes and it pops right off.. I did that and it sat over night and it started every time.

It sat for 10 days and it wont start now. I went and got a volt meter and the batt reads 11.47. Lights come on but when you hit the starter it just clicks. I tested the wifes EX and hers came in at like 12.3 or something like that.. All batterys have not run for 10 days.

I put the battery on the starter and ground it then hit it and its registering like 350v witch I assume is correct. So whats the deal here?? I need to check the battery while I start it and see what it draws..

I orderd the dry cell and its here but its the wrong one!!! I orderd the pc545 and they sent the 630 so I did not unbox it.. What other then the batt not keeping its cranking amps? OR what should I test with my meter???

Grady, where did you order your pc-545 from? That stinks! It sounds like your battey has a weak cell or something. I assume you checked all your connections from battery to rectifier/solenoid/starter and stuff?

I orderd it from the same place you did.. Yea, I cleanded off the bat terminals, and the rectifire and celinoid have never been touched....

Ok, I did the AMP/CUrrent test

I hooked up the meter cold and clamped it on. Turned the key on and hit the starteer, it read 350, then 250 then stayed at 150 in like 1 second it droped so fast I could barley read the meter, then it hung at 150 +/- permanently.

What is the cranking amps on the stock?

Will a battery do that? produce power but not crank?

Good, I hope thats it.. What I may do is pull my battery and put it on the wifes EX and see if it starts.. but it probably will since its on the charger now....

This battery is 2 years old.

You can hook up the voltmeter and watch the voltage as you try to crank the engine. It should not drop too much during the cranking. A good way to see what it should look like is to do the same thing on the EX first.

You need amperage to turn the motor. A battery can read good in the volt dept but if it lacks amperage it will not have the power to start the motor. Im having the same problem that you are having at the moment. My problem is that I left the key on one too many times though. Im gonna be going to a odyssey battery next. Yuasa only has 6mo warranty and the odyssey is like a year I think. Odyssey also claims that the battery can be completly discharges 500 times and it will still work fine.

Sure, you need current (amperage for you DSJOBBER). You will see if the battery can put out the current if the voltage drops while cranking.
