Jeff and I were talking about it and we figured that you really don't need to have the gears undercut if you replace the shift forks with the updated ones. You can still have them under cut if you want, but it may be just a waste of $400.00.

Mario...I don't know yet if they all need to be swaped or not. But im prety sure you need to split the cases. Mine is second gear poping in and out once in a great while. It feels like and sounds like the chain is slipping. I was just hoping to find a site like the one for the raptor. That would would help a lot. If I do end up doing it my self I will certainly post the notes and pics on Our Dune Videos site. Any help I could provide to others I would gladly do. If not for this forum I wouldn't know what I know now about the DS.
The FAQ site is great help for many things. But it falls short little here.

Punisher:

That's what I did on my 680 (updated the shift fork). Seems to have solved the problem. I still occasionally miss a shift but, nothing is hanging up on the fork.

My opinion is that if you are dumping a lot of $$ into a big-bore and you have the cases split, why not get the gears undercut while you are in there. Less chance for miss shifts with the undercut.
