I run Valvoline motorcycle oil (with wet clutch protection). It's not synthetic so I don't have to worry about my clutch. It's not expensive at all, about $3 a quart and I think it's a great oil. It looks very refined, it looks very clear almost like cooking oil so i know it's a good oil. I change my oil VERY often anyway, and at $3 a quart I wont go broke changing my oil often.
I forgot to mention that you can get this oil at almost any autoparts store: Napa, Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Checker auto... I get mine from checker auto.

Here are some interesting readings on automobile oil vs. motorcycle oil & motorcycle oil in general.
I personally use Castrol syntec blend (50-50 synthetic/petroleum) about $2.10 at walmart. 10w40 in fall and spring. 20w50 for summer. You definitely don't want to use 5w30 or 10w30 as these contain friction modifiers and could cause cluth slippage plus are too light viscosity for hotter running atv/motorcycle engines.
