Default Cut in rubber flange

I have 01 ds and I have been having some problems with my stock carb, the other night I took it apart and the rubber flange at the verry top of the carb (i don't know the proper name for it) anyhowe it had a cut in it (verry small) I looked at it close and realized it was beeing cut by the carb i supoose from rubing on it. I went to the dealer this morning and asked to get a new one they did not have any in stock but they had a couple used carbs in stock when guys went to a stage 2 kit we oppened up the carb and to our surprise it was the same a little slice in it in the same area as mine, i guess what I am trying to say how many other people could be having the same isue and not realy know bombardier defect yes. no. maybe. Mine did the same thing only bigger , I kinda thought it was from over tighting. Now to say Im very careful when I tighten things back up.
