how to set timing?

Default how to set timing?

well i'm going to be puttin my topend back together tonite, just looking for any tips on settin the timing(which is the reason it had to be tore down[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]), wat stroke should it be on at TDC?

Default how to set timing?

As long as the piston is at top dead center and the cams are alined you will be fine. Top dead center is top dead center

Put it at TDC and make sure the cam lobes are OPPOSING each other....

can the cam come off the crank sprocket if the chain isn't held tight enough and then come back on wen it is pulled tight?

And like hurycne said, TDC is TDC as long as the cam lobes are opposing each other and the timing marks lined up you're good to go! Pisst, lilnotts.... Don't bend no more valves..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

I'm not sure about your last question but just check the marks after you have the tensioner on and ready to put the cover back on...

well i'm just trying to figure out how i bent them the first time, and thats the only thing i can come up wit, must moved a tooth on the bottom

I would put in a TDC bolt in the crank!!! I did that, you never know if it may move. I always do that!
