How do you go abouts to modify the stock end cap, like i guess you just basically cut out the 2 tips to make one big one but is there anything to watch out for when cutting the tips out. I havn't taken the tip off my ds...yet so I'm not to sure whats behind the tip.

p.s good job dsboy650Baja thats very impressive right now I would be rattling like a bag of bones if I had to race one of those 450's....mind ya I have TONS of faith in my ds and would never turn down a race but yea very impressed with your results thats awesome!

Wow, that's digging up some old blast from the past. Miss some of those old school folks who used to guide us in our ways back then.
To answer your question though, the HPR/OMW open endcap proved to be the best option over the long run. Lots of threads on that over the years. Depending on where you ride you have to watch out for the noise police. In Oregon I would not recommend the open endcap at all. Anywhere else you're probably okay. Lots of other options out there though such as the Supertrapp disced endcap. I wouldn't go cutting up my stock endcap as it was intended to be used as is.
If you really need a HPR endcap or a Supertrapp then jet me a PM.

hell no, thats pretty much all the riding I do with my ds. the only problem i have found is with the low sprocket it tends to bottom out alot (so does every other atv with a straight axle)
