Got my head back.... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG NOW!?
Well as you guys know I bent my valves and I FINALLY got my head back. It had both intake valves bent but not the exhaust valves...... So, to make a long story short I got it all put back together and I got it timed RIGHT. So after double-triple checking everything I fire it up and let it sit and idle. RUNS GREAT, so I decide to test it out. i rev it up a few times and it revved unusualy SLOW... I didn't think too much of it so I take it for a spin. It has NO power at all!!!! It starts great, idles great, and runs great, but it revs slow and it don't have any power. So after I brought it back to the shop I figure "I must have the timing off a tooth for it to be acting like this." I took it back apart and check all of the marks again and they ALL line up perfect...... I have no frickin idea what's wrong and I'm SICK and TIRED of constantly working on this thing. So after I check everything all out (everything is fine and my Dad even checked it out to make sure) so I give up for the night and decided to relax and think about what could be wrong..... The ONLY thing that I can think of is, possibly the carb diaphram being ripped and making it act sluggish. So tomorrow I'm gonna check it out, but I have my doubts since it wouldn't work last time I rode it and now that I have it back together it's running like it is, but I have to check. IF that's NOT it, I have NO IDEA what to do..... So I'm asking what COULD be the problem here? The only thing different is the ported intake and I put the stock pipe back on. the jetting is fine and I looked at every dam thing on the motor and I just don't get it... Can someone help me please? New gas?
Carb clean?
Both plug wires on?
Air filter over oiled or real dirty?
The simple things are easily over looked and can be ahrd to find if you aren't thinking about them.
I think you are the only person I have heard of who's luck is close to mine.

Did you clean the carburetor out recently? perhaps some piece of junk is clogging the jet. It sounds like what you've diagnosed is some sort of blockage somewere. Since it runs good at low speed that pretty much has got to be it. How about the air filter, is it clean? If your shop is REALLY clean, you could try running without the filter for a few seconds to see how it revs up. Also try opening the fuel cap - perhaps the air vent on the fuel tank is blocked. This has definately got to be something blocked that isn't allowing something else to flow right, I'd check all of those bases first and anything else that could cause stuff like this. I've read previous posts about problems just like this and as I recall it was always some sort of blockage, though you may want to go read them & see if you get something else out of it. My 2001 DS did the same thing at the sand dunes once when the Outerwear on my K&N was so filthy no air would pass through it. I slipped the outerwear off, rode back to camp, cleaned the outerwear & was good for the rest of the day.
