I'm happy with it, even with the stock cdi box and 87 octane....

I dont want to beat this horse to death, but i guess im not understanding it. I have the stock carb, with a direct mount filter. Are you guys saying that i will gain more by putting the snorkle back on? Will I need to up the jets with this setup or lower? Im running a 195 right now, and my bike seems to run spot on. Im all about more free horses so please let me know.

Also, I hear alot of people talking about how awesome MRHP's head job is.. (that didnt sound right did it?) were can I get this done, and how much does it cost?

Also, if i keep my bike I am thinking of going with a 680 kit. What all do i need to do? Is this a good kit to go with? Can i use a1/a2 cams on that set up? Where can I get the kit?

Sorry for all the questions, but you all do seem to have all the answers compared to others i have talked to.

Thanks in advance,

Kenny

The stock cv carb makes more hp with the snorkel and stock air box with lid with the 2 tubes pulled out and zip tied to the frame facing forward using the stock needle at the richest position and 170 mikuni main jet with billet end cap for elevations under 2000 ft or so. Mr Hp's porting on the carb intake is awesome and I have heard his head porting/valves/cam mods are top notch as well.

The 680 kit is a Pami 102mm bore and piston. They bore your jug and re nicisil it to spec. It is in the 11 to 1 area for compression. The cams should fit with no problems. The head has to be clearanced for the bigger bore too.

(1) Number one----- What part of MR.H.P or BOM or 222, do you guys not understand.
But at the same time I would LIKE TO THANK ALL THAT DID THE CARB SHOOT-OUT. IT WAS GREAT READING.

Well maddog, good thing I don't have either one of those carbs, lol. If you looked carefully, you would see that I have a TM45. There are many of us who have proven this to be the most effective intake setup on and aftermarket carb. I don't know what you have been reading, or how you interperted it, but this gains more HP over the carb mount filter on everything but stock carb.

"We also seen the most power out of the DS snorkel over the on the carb filter. This was a surprise to me !!!" That was posted by The Bom. on page 2.

I think you might need Scooby's engineering help to get a 'good' snorkel to work on dual carbs since you have to fabricate it yourself. He calculated the prefect length etc. for a snorkel type tube for his turbo. It seems to me you'ed really need to get exact with that sort of thing to REALLY see the results you want, if you just rig something up you could end up being a little off and not seeing the results that -could- be possible.
