Default Clutch Question

I have had my 04' X for 3 weeks, I broke it in, and had noticed afterwards when I shifted from 4th to 5th the clutch wouldn't hook up. So I started being easy on it. I have ridden it a couple of times since and seemed to do fine. Now I took it down the road to check some mods out..pulled hard in second, go to third...clutch wouldnt hook, backed out tried to 4th same thing. What I am wondering is has anyone been able to have the clutches warranteed? I have the mrhp46,ported intake, k&n, billet end cap etc..I work for a new car dealership as a service advisor and know that if someone cam in with mods , the dealership would try to deny the warranty claim, has any one tried this or have any advice?? I hope its not put it back to stock.

did you by chance, change your oil after your broke it in with a full synthetic oil? That might be the source of your slip if you did. just a thought.

Before you take it into the stealer, I would check a few things.

1) change your oil. Do a search on here and get the most recommended oil for the DS. Do not use any oil that has friction modifiers in it.

2) check your clutch adjustment. I have had my clutch adjusted one tooth to much on the clutch cover and it gave me problems!

3) when you change your oil, check the screen in the bottom of the oil tank (in the bottom where the hose comes out) This is just for preventive purpose. I check mine each time I change my oil.

the clutch springs are weak. with your mods you should be running HD clutch springs.

I agree, Pami strongest, RWRs 60% second choice. The more mods the better the clutch you need. Check your clutch disc and steels while your doing it.
