I am leaning heavily towards selling the DS. Today I tried to get the DS in for warranty service before it runs out in a week and I have to wait 2 weeks for them to get to it. I thought I was buying a reliable 4-stroke ATV that would require little maintenance - I was wrong.

Scooby,

Ever thought of putting it back into close to or 100% stock form and see how it goes? It seems to me, you ought to do that before throwing in the towel. I did that with my Mojave (I thoght I was gonna get the thing all souped up, but it started to not run hardly at all) and then things have been much better since I put it back to stock form. I get the impression you may see similar results if you do the same. My Mojave is an '87 also a first year production quad. From what I have heard, the engine for it came out of a street bike as well - the Ninja 250.

Scooby, I haven't had any of the problems you have experienced with your early production machine and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see you sell it.
