Vortex CDI
I have a vortex CDI with custom curves. The least aggressive curve is 23 degees and the most aggressive curve is 34 degrees. This is an 11 degree difference. When parked in garage, holding throttle steady at around 3000RPM, when I dynamically switch between these two curves using handlebar switch nothing happens - no change in exhaust tone and no increase/decrease in RPM. This doesn't seem right to me. I was told the motor should be under load to see a difference, but I'm not sure I agree with that. The only thing I can think of is that the RPM needs to be higher to see the effect. The switch itself works, I tested it with an ohm meter.
Has anyone tried this, in the garage with no load, with their vortex CDI?

Vortex CDI
I agree with Bartlett Racing , although i dont have the ported intake , everything else the same , on the Dyno we noticed a 5hp difference up top and considerable torque increase with the Vortex CDI swithced between Power and Traction.
I notice the difference racing around a sand track , i get less wheel spin and actually go faster in traction mode , is a considerable difference ...thats for sure........
Now what i wanna know is how much better she will go with a Lectron 46 !!!!!!!!
cheers

Vortex CDI
ProKiwi,
When I get my Lectron in April, that will be the ONLY mod I'm doing to my ATV. So I should have a very good idea of what it does. I'm also hoping to hit dumont at least once before and once after I get my Lectron, just before the riding season ends. I'll use my GPS to check the speed up the hill then check it again with the Lectron. Obviously the weather may be slightly different which could affect the speed a little, but I'm expecting a lot of difference.
