Mudlites on Outlander
I am looking at getting a new Outlander 400 XT. I am thinking of scrapping the factory tires and putting on ITP Mudlites. I am looking at 26x10x12 on the front and 26x12x12 on the back. My concern with this set up is that it may cause a lot of power loss, and really down grade the performance. Any one have any input or experience with this kind of set up? I'd appreciate your input. Also if you have any other tire suggestions that work well in mud and snow, I am open for advice.
Thanks

BEWARE ON THE 26X10X12 FRONT TIRES ON THE FRONT THEY WILL RUB THE TIE ROD ENDS WHEN YOU TURN SHARP YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT A WHEEL SPACER ON THE FRONT OR YOU CAN PUT 3 WASHERS ON EACH OF THE STUDS TO MOVE THE WHEEL OUT. ON THE BACK THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM

I am looking at upgrading tires also. The factory tires on my Outlander 400 are some of the weakest current tires. I have lost traction too often on steep rock/gravel trails and in mud while machines without difflock and better tires keep going. I am thinking seriously about 26" mudlites or maybe a more agressive tire in back but I want to go wide to try and stay on top of the snow this winter (yeah right).

I just ordered a big wheel kit with the itp series 4 wheels and 26x10x12 rears and 26x9x12 fronts they should be here this afternoon. The guy I bought them from recomended the 9s on front. I am also leaving for upper Michigan today also for some serious miles on them so I will let you all know how they work.

i might upgrade tires on my outlander.im gonna either stay with 25inchers. or a very light 26 incher like mudlites.i feel the outlander lacks a little power on the bottom end in high range .but once you hit midrange it gets snappy.low range is nice i think .and in the snow thats what range ill be in.so 26ers might be nice
