The only thing that is TVI on my jug is the sleeve itself. It had to be re-bored from 104.5mm to 105.5, O-ring removed and assembled with a tripple layer head gasket, Re-decked (Deck was slanted .008). The reason they don't want to push this jug is because they are worried that the sleeve will start to walk (move). BTW: NO HEAD GASKET LEAKS!!

i had a head sealing problem with the pami head then gary changed it out to one of his,and problem fix, now with about 30 nos runs no leaks. wow this stuff is exciting, i ran one of the high compression 720's but due to rider it wasn't a good race.
duneme, don't get me wrong the 760 of parkers is really coming alive, he is about 80 to 100 pounds heavier than me and he is pulling me by about a quad now, and that is with the race mbrp, hope he doesn't change that think they found something that was very good inside that engine

Only thing that is missing for the Mr. HP set-up is some true R&D in the drag racing / Hill shooting environment.

As soon as someone does that and it is in the $1500 range we are going to have a real winner.

Funny how things can come around. Could be that modifying the DS for this kind of power will be less expensive than the Raptor?

Other thing that is cool is the DS is about $1000 less expensive than the YFZ. If you could get a DS with the 105.5 bore for $1500 you would have a 730 DS for about $500 more than the YFZ. I know you would put a pipe and probably cams on too but, I think both bikes would see those mods so, price wise it would be pretty close.

I hate to admit it but the YFZ will still smoke a DS on a track.

Hopefully my clutch springs come in today, if they do I think I'll take my 720 out for a spin with the son in some sand riding tomorrow. No school for the kiddies this week.

I'm sure your right about the YFZ on the tracks. They are a great overall bike.

Out of the 40 or so people I know that ride, there are only about 3 of them that hit the tracks. Everyone else is a duner.

I'ld like to see the DS be inexpensive to modify. I already see more and more DS's showing up with the riders I run into but, it still is funny to me that the newby's to the sport think Yamaha is the best. Yes, the Yamaha's are good but, go sit on a DS. Really look at a DS at least before you buy. I think if people could see 730 DS's beat YFZ's and Raptors and the cost wasn't but, $500 they would think again about their decision.

That isn't what happened Saturday night! Well, almost. 60hp unported, stock stroke/bore, DS650 at PIR TT and ST race, 250lb rider. Horsepower Research DS650 pulled the holeshot and steadily pulled away for 3 laps and then threw the chain - yeah, I know, always an excuse! Never could cure the chain problem the rest of the night.

There was several YFZ450's, including Chris Fristoe (finished 2nd behind Jackie Meadows at PIR National last fall in Production Class, and Jesse Garrison (won 4 stroke class at the same race last fall).

Are there web addresses for TVI and Horsepower Research? What is the approx. cost for a big bore kit for a DS? My 250R is now a 310, and it was really cheap to do, although it is a two-stroke. Also, didn't someone have a turbo kit for the Banshee or DS a few years ago, maybe ALBA?
