Default stock chain plus 14t sprocket

How many links will I need to remove from the stock chain to make a 14t sprocket work. Its an all stock 2000 model with very low hours and 22" razrs in the rear. Also, has anyone put the stock chains back together with out a master link?

I run a 15t but I think you can leave the stock length chain with the 14t as well.

You will need to remove 1 link to run a 14 tooth front sprocket. Get a click style connecting link from Rocky Mountain, I think they are 3 bucks. The clip style are a lot easier to use then the kind that you press on.

I was needing the answer to this question too... I tried to install my 14t sprocket, but couldn't get the chain tight. I thought it was because of my skid plate.
I guess I'm going to need two chains instead of just one. Do the Rocky Mountain master links still use o-rings, or are they just standard 530 master links?

Man that's weird, I have no problems with my 14t with the stock chain and stock rear sprocket. I can tighten it just as easy as the 15 or 16...

I run a 14 tooth front and stock rear and only had to tighten. Still had room to over tighten as well.

If you ran out of adjustment, it might be time to consider a new chain if you haven't replaced it recently.

I can run anything from 14 to 17 with no change in chain length.
the new models with the shorter swingarm may be different?

If you put a 14 on, you need to turn around the rear engine mount bolt - put the head on the right side and the nut on the left or the chain will rub the bolt that sticks out through the nut
