I've been there many many times, will be there again this may 25 and 26, never been sound checked, not even on labor day weekend, but been checked for sparky lots.
always wearing a pipe I can adjust though, just in case. disk systems, tunable endcaps like the Yoshi, only way to go for places like this.
oh, the open end cap mod a few people make for the DS - won't make it.

Scooby, if you want some competition it would be best to go on a Holiday weekend.

The parking lot is small, so you have to get a voucher on Friday night for Sat, or Sat night for Sunday, if you don't want to get there the night before, just post you are going, I'm sure someone can pick you up a voucher and meet you there.


When you get into the dunes, after you get checked, you can put your open end cap back on, I have seen people do this.,but you get checked everytime you enter the dunes from the parking lot.



Dingo2, I have the Ron Woods pipe, with the discs, sounds as loud as the end cap, they just look at the supertrap, and let me in.

 

does anyone have a pic of the asphalt(?) parking area and dune entrance area? the parking before entering dunes is paved or sand?

where are the vouchers bought?

what does "dune ready" mean - truck your ATV onto the dunes?

I have a Jeep and 5x8 open trailer. Is the road to on dune parking flat and hard pack? Am I better off going that route?

is parking a problem on memorial weekend?

 

The DNR has a voucher station set up just before you get to the dunes, if you are going to be there Friday night, that is when you pick up your voucher for Sat, if you are not going to be there untill Sat, it would be best to find someone that will be there Fri night to pick up a voucher for Sat, the vouchers are for certain times only, they give you a 2 hr window to show up in your time slot. ( unless they changed it from last year)

The perimeter of the lot is paved only, so you only have to cross that to get to the dunes, it is like crossing a driveway.
If you had a pickup and could put you quad in the back would be best, then you can get right in the dunes, no matter if the lot is full or not. They will not let you take your trailer in the dunes. If you don't have a big flag, you can buy one in the store next door.

Man, I wish I had my motor back, I would be there that weekend.

 

My HMF is loud. They only checked for a spark arrestor though. I helped another guy on a DS make one out of an older style spark arrestor I had.
