Is it moving inside the carrier? If it is and it hasn't been doing it for very long just tighten up the adjusting nut on the left hand side of the carrier. It is backwards thread. They are supposed to be torqued to 35 ft/lbs. They are tapered bearings just like the front wheel bearings on cars or trucks.

If a piece of the gasket came out, you may have a problem. First check that nut to make sure it is not loose, but you will still have to tear it apart and check the bearings and replace that seal. If you ruined the carrier, pm me, I have a spare.
