stock A-arms

Any one got some for sale? I tore the rubber boot on the lower right side that covers (i guess ) a bushing. I checked at the dealer and they said that the whole assembley is $95.00. I just hate to spend that much money when it's nothing more than a tear in a small rubber piece and nothing more. How critical is this piece to the prevention of damage to the quad - can I still ride or stay off until I replace it. The top one has the grease fitting but there is nothing on the bottom - is it just a rubber bushing in there? thanks for any help.

That is the ball joint. Yep, they are expensive. Yep, you should replace it. Yep there is a grease fitting on the bottom, you have to look between the a-arm and the rim. It is hard to get to without taking the tire off. You can probably ride it until the joint gets loose, then you need to replace it or you will end up breaking it during a jump. Just keep it greased between now and then.

If it is just torn
clean all the grease away that u can
Use a degreaser or paint thinners and very carfully super glue the torn edges back together
then re grease it being carfull not to pressurise the boot and split it open.
if you dont have enough material left to do that wrap the joint with denso (grease) tape to keep the crap and water out of it and grease it every ride. that should hold it unitl u get round to replacing it
