NEED HELP ASAP Leaving in 12hrs!!!
Ok this is messed up. The DS sat outside for a week and not its battery is dead dead dead. It did get rained on but big deal. here is what is messed up. It wont rev past idle. It just pukes and sputters. I cleaned the carb & warmed it up.. Nada.. put the original rectifire on as I was dumb enough to buy the performance crapy one.. It wont hold a charge its just flat dead..
NOW, here is what kicks me.. When the head lights are on it runs fine!!! no sputters. I can hold it at 3grand and turn the lights off and it goes to heck turn them back on and it runs good.. WTF WTF???
Help a bro out...

Well I called my buddy MRHP and spoke with him early friday morning and gave him the low down. He said get a battery and its fixed. So I go out and spend 80 bucks for a quick battery and viola! it works.. I had no issues this weekend with the motor. Now the bearings on the other had did go out and out they went. My axle is wobbling in the carrier but at least it starts

just because the axle wobbles doesn't mean the bearings are bad. the axle nut may just be loose. you need to check for axle play frequently, while you still got her propped up servicing the chain kill two birds with one stone. if there is play, retighten the axle nut accordingly. riding with a loose nut is what kills the bearings, there still may time to save them and its a 2 minute job to tighten the nut.
many people have needlessly replaced perfectly good bearings not understanding the concept of tapered bearings like the DS has.
