I have heard (not 100 % sure) they have scent additives for stuff like that.

10 bucks a gallon is rather steep. Get the 14:1 and run 110 octane.

 

Doc, Um, the sticker on the 5 gallon can says Ultimate 4. I don't know the chemical composition and it was somewhere around $10 a gallon. I don't recall the exact cost, I bought it a few months ago but it was around $50 for the can. The odor is profuse and can be smelled venting from the quad 5ft away outdoors (not running). Like I said before, there is no way to be sneaky with it. Its like a skunk on fire!

 

Thanks for the info mystereid. Sounds like I'm done with this deal if your gas cost 10 bucks a gallon. And that is for, I think, 93 octane. I'm going to have to have at least 104 or so. So that will put me into the CMP VP. I can't imagine what that would cost if 93 cost 10 bucks a gallon!!!!! I can put the money to better use, than putting out that much money for gas.

That has got to be the funniest quote I have seen in a long time!!!!!!!

By the way. If you can describe the smell, please do. I realize that is like trying to say how high is up, so if you can't, I understand.

U-4 is a highly oxygenated fuel and that is what makes it smell. We tested it back to back w/ c-14, and the U-4 (straight)made the oil temp on a honda 483ex run about 30-40 degrees hotter. Smells kinda like the typical oxygen adder and if you run it youll need to jet up about 2 sizes.

The nu-tech fuels also REEEK!!! worse than U-4. My garage needs to be aired out once or twice a day. VPs power adder for gas reeks worse than anything. I can smell my bike from the trailer while driving down the highway @ 55 mph[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

DoctorT, I'd have to say rotting fruit mixed with a little acetone. Running around the dunes in stiil air I could tell where I'd been by the scent of my own fuel.

 

I run Sunoco race fuel in mine (110 or 112 octane) and don't have any bad smell in the gas (and it costs less too [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] ).

 

i run the suduco 112 and it smelled prety bad also, the guys that were sidelined even asked what i had ....But i like it alot
