My '01 Recon stinks like gas yesterday when I went riding with some friends.I looked by the Carb for leaks but there were none.I also looked at the overflow lines and they were dry also.Has anyone else smelled gasoline while riding their Recon?What could have caused this?This is the only time it has done it since I bought it new in October.Thanks

 

Check to make sure your Idle screw has not worked loose and is sending too much gas to the bowl, resulting in a bad burn.

Also, take out your filter and clean it throughly.

 

This is the first time that I have seen this problem. There has to be a leak somewhere for you to be smelling gas.

 

Negative on the gas leak.I went over it with a fine tooth comb.No leaks anywhere.It runs fine too when it smells like gas.

 

maybe it's just gas vapors coming out of the hose in the gas cap? Just a thought...
