Well this thread is some real good P.R. for Mr. HP. I think I will pick up the phone, and order something from him right now.

 

Phone is busy, I'll try again. Guess I'm not the only one with this idea right now.

 

First of all, I buy absolutely NOTHING from Walmart. Their business plan is horrible. Instead of making a reasonable profit and competing with others, they want to drive everyone else out of business and be the last one standing. Well, guess what that does to your local economy (jobs, income, businesses, taxes)? I own a shop and some of my customers work at WalMart, they hate it (too many reasons to list here). That kind of business mentality (kill all other business instead of we can all make a reasonable profit) has transcended into other businesses. I have shops near me offering oil changes for $5.95. That's stupid to undercut eachother to the point where you lose money just to have people walk in the door. Plus, you get what you pay for and by saving $1.00 to have something break that much faster, then by all means do so. That's like people driving 10 miles to save $0.02 a gallon on gas. Enough of that rant.

As for Mr. HP, I do intend to buy his products and not others. By asking him jetting about other's products is like when people come into my shop, ask for a free diagnosis (taking an hour of my time to look at car), and then fix the cars themselves. Don't waste his time, sweat and valuable knowledge so you can save a few $$. It's not worth it and it may come back to bite you at your own job when people find they can do it to you too.

 

it's not just about mr hp it's just his end cap that got the attention, what were some of the last topics what a piston should cost and what a carb should cost, these guys just offer a sevice, some are even our riding friends. eric is nice, it bums me to hear people working him that's all. the mod quad end cap is fine but to ask him to tune it. like i said earlier i figure eric would help tune it. i don't run his 720 kit but i'm sure if we rode together, we'd talk tuning, but then after we did and he had some ideas it would seem right to give him the business. it's all fun for most of us, but there are a few that it is work. maybe that is why knutz ran into the problems he had.

 

I LIKE LOWRECOILS ATTITUIDE !!!!!! And i do not and am aginst any one shopping wallmart.And for that matter if i was going to go after mrhp i would take him out on service not price!!!!! If he answered phones until midnight answering your questions i would answer mine until 2am.If he spent a half hour extra on each bike making sure all the details are not missed i would alot 1 hr for mine.If he gave you 11hp for 1500 i would give you 12.5. If he had an average of only one per 500 bikes come back on him i would strive for 1 for every 1000 !!!! i would do what ever it takes to take your buiness from him!!!! BUT I WOULD NOT OFFER YOU ONE OF MY HARD EARNED DOLLARS !!!!!!!!!

If you guys want major increase in power, I HIGHLY recomend the drag pipe and 48mm carb.

It doesnt seem fair for Eric to give service for mod quad end cap jetting (im sure someone on the forums might help).

There was ONE GUY that called MrHp for help with jetting before he purchased it. This thread is more twisted than my sister's braids! LOL. You'd think this was some sort of political convention or something. Couch - you crack me up! I get countless emails, and faxes, and IMs, and yes FRICKEN TELEPHONE CALLS until 10pm on everything - not just jetting. When it comes to tuning, yes, MRHP is one of the best. Its just what people are willing to pay for his service - Just because they don't that does not make them EVIL! I'll say it again, if you all want to turn this into a witch hunt, then go right ahead. But for the love of ****** , I've never seen so much spinning in my life than on this thread.

Hey, JD. I wasn't being a wise guy. I did call to order a slip from Mr. HP. Left him a message, and am awaiting his call back. I have ordered from him before, he has given me great customer service. All I was saying after reading this thread, was that I appreciate guys like Mr. HP, and that's why I buy from him.

 

Regardless of what anyone thinks or says with my money I will shop for the best price and product. I will take into consideration the service that accompanies the product I buy. But it's my money and I will save it where I can regardless of who is a nice guy. I don't think many people are willing to pay more based on someone's personality. There are a lot of mods I want to make to my DS and being frugal will help me do that earlier. After all if these people were as considerate as the people they are selling to (no matter who it is brand x or Mr HP) wouldn't they have the same loyalty and sell at better prices when possible ? I understand the cost of research and development and also know that it is in the pursuit of financial gains in addition to helping out the DS community. So if this altruistic attitude is genuine, no one will mind if I buy elsewhere and save my money. If the cost of R&D was so great I don't think that anyone would do it if they could not recap their expenses and if they do they are not wise business people. If MR HP decides not to do it (hope that is not the case) but eventually someone will. Either way I reserve the right to spend my money any way I please notwithstanding the ridicule that may transpire afterwards. And for you guys spouting off about keeping small business alive, remember that the next time you go to buy a car, house, or your next atv and make sure that you don't bargain at all and in fact pay more than full sticker. That way while the salesman and owner laugh all the way to the bank you can feel good about stimulating the small business economy.
Now back to the original subject - this all started over someone asking about a MR HP end cap jetting - all I did was tell him what I had and what jetting worked for me with it. And I will continue to inform people about any deals that I believe they may be interested in as I believe it may help someone in my same situation where every dollar counts. They can make up their own minds to go with the original proven product with awesome service or do what ever they want. After all isnt that what this site is all about? Sharing info to help each other
