WHEN THE DS FIRST CAME OUT I BASHED IT BAD, I SAID IT WAS A BIG UGLY YELLOW SLUG AND EVRYTHING BAD ABOUT IT. noW A YEAR LATER AFTER SEEING A FEW IN PERSON AND SEEING ONE FLAT OUT DESTROY A 400EX AND BANSHEE I AM L;IKING THEM. tHEY LOOK LIKE AND ARE SOME BIG MEEN BIKES. I PUT A RAPTOR ON ORDER A FEW WEEKS AGO AND I HOPE I LIKE IT TO NOW. I WILL GET TO MY POINT AND JUST SAY THAT EVRYONE NEEDS TO STOP BASHING A BIKE THEY HAVENT EVEN SEEN IN PERSON OR IN ACTION.

A buddy of mine just got back from Little Sahara.
He has a pretty quick banshee with a set of LRD pipes. I know it's fast because I race him with my banshee across some long flats and he beat me every time.
Anyway, he said that there several modded banshees, his included that raced a couple of stock DS650s. He said as soon as the DS got into 3rd gear, it was bye bye to all of them!
They really felt embarrassed when a girl wearing a ball cap and jeans riding a DS destroyed them and there pretty jerseys and hopped up bikes. I'd have loved to see that.

i own a stock ds and i have raced a stock 2000 banshee. the ds will beat the banshee bottom to top end period. I will ad that we have both been drag racing for years because alot does depend on the rider, but the ds will beat the banshee hands down.

300exSTER, You are probably right. When I raced a '00 Banshee with Sand Skate II's, against my completey stock DS650, I started in first. Even with some sputtering, I caught him and passed him before shifting to fourth and left him way back by fifth gear.
The DS is heavier and the rider of the Banshee was about 100lbs less then myself, also.
If my DS was not coughing and I had started from second ( I know better know), I know I would have chewed him and spit him out. I can't wait till I get paddles!
Besides the point, the DS is a fun, comfortable ride. It's a shame that so many people seem to be having problems with theirs, it gets you worried everytime you go riding.
