Default Ball Joint Removal.....need advice

I didn't realize those ball joints were that expensive. I was planning on replacing all of them. Maybe it's time to look into a new set of a-arms

Another thought I had was to remove the old ones, buy some that are a hair bigger and have the knuckle machined at a shop to fit them. I have seen ball joints for trucks for $12- $15. If they work on trucks I'm guessing they would be sturdy enough for the Bomb. Anyone with machining experience have any feedback on that? That way I could afford to replace them all and woul dnot have this problem in the future.

Come on ! somebody must have had this problem before us. Has anyone found a different brand that will fit to replace the moog one? or has anyone been able to cross reference the bombardier part number 703500082 to find an automotive one to check prices with? There has to be one since they use them in cars and trucks.

cain73 I'm still waiting as well... I can't understand why they are so expensive.. I got a price from one of the cheapest places to get Bomb parts... it's roughly like 76 bucks per ball joint, but 4 of them adds up to nearly 300 beans. Not cheap.

maybe call Moog and see if they maintain a "Where-Used" list. Where I work (Telecomm industry), I can go into a part number and find out every place a part is used.

a friend of mine with a raptor did change to a different ball joint. the differnce ended up in the tapered shaft. it had a slightly different taper. he just carefully dremelled the taper to fit. insted of cross referencing the part #. they just crossed to a very close dimention. not sure if napa can cross dimentions on that part or not. but, they have for me on other parts.

If you find an auto version that will work, let me know. I can get auto parts at wholesale cost (I have a repair shop) and ship em to you but I'd need the number.
