The trouble I was having was the throttle cable, which isn't very dependant on the type of throttle; however I was using the billet. Don't forget to try cable lube if things get sticky!

I don't know enough about the Razr IIs to say, however I think people were saying they were six ply (at least the ones I remember peope buying) since the tires being discussed seemed to be exactly the same specs as my XCTs. It is not impossible that they are available in both 4 or 6 ply, however these days that is often just a rating, and doesn't actually tell you how many plys are actually used.
