Well I finally got my motor in(it was only a month late getting here[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]isgust[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

I am taking out my Rotax 650, and putting in a 2003 Honda 954 engine.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] My ds motor is very strong,and very reliable. I dont know if I am going to sell it or just keep it on the shelf for awhile. It has impressed alot of poeple, and I will miss it.

BUT!!! I have wanted to do a "one off" type of project for a long time, and for the money , you just cant get this type of power from anything else. This is what the kit costs[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

$1100.00 This includes

-Honda 954cc engine(it wieghs 30 lbs more than the DS motor)
-all wireing harness and ECU and rectifier
-throttle bodies(4- 42mm)
-radiator(allthought I belive I will use the stock DS radiator, its twice the size of the honda radiator anyway)
-headers- and mid-pipe.

did I mention it has 150+ hp and 75 ft lbs or Torque[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]


I am exited to start this project, but I will not hurry it either. I will try and make the conversion look as "CLEAN" as possible and I will put alot of thought into it. I plan on making this quad a DUNER, so the funtionallity will be very important. I will make sure and take pictures and keep everyone up on my progress. Hopefully when it is finished i will have something I can be proud of.

1,100 for 150hp is cheep cant build a ds for that!!! can any one get this kit or is this a salvage yard special?

Thats cool, cant wait to see it at little sahara tearing some stuff up. You have about 2 1/2 months to get it done for sand fest..lol. Good luck with it.

 

Wow, that sounds like a killer. I wish something like that was availible for other atvs, like my raptor. I dont have the time for a custom fab job, or the money to send it out to have that done. But if I had a bolt in engine...

Is this an actual kit for the ds, or just something you rounded up?

 

I bought the whole set-up from Ebay. 1100 was WITH shipping also. It will probably cost me few hundred for all the fab work,and powder coating. but I hope to have around 2000(total) in this project when its over.
