USFS run in

HMF sends a heat proof sticker for the spark arrester. It's OK, but I got a set of punches that have the alphabet on them. I just punched USFS APPROVED on the rim of the spark arrester. It looks legit to me. Gotta hammer down hard though

thats true because when i had the stock endcap on and i was running around at 5500' my DS would hesitate a bit. (stock jetting) but as soon as i put the Mr.Hp endcap on it ran much much better

On my DS with the Lectron it shouldn't be too bad, and the DS with the stock carburetor can be re-jetted in five minutes if it becomes a problem, however my 2001 (with the stock carb.) isn't very picky about jetting. I figure if it bogs like hell when I make the switch I'll do something about it then. The Lectron's needle is worth many many jet sizes, so between those two factors it shouldn't be a problem. The worst case scenario is it takes me ten minutes total including time to rejet the 2001.
The area I'm most concerned about being hassled for noise / spark arrester is at my nearest riding area - Hungry Valley which is about 30 minutes away, most of the other places are really not too much of a concern unless I go to one of my old haunts or some place I've never been.

I haven't had as much luck as I would like with the Supertrapp or WB E-Series discs limiting noise. For example on my Mojave - it had a white brothers mega alloy pipe (megaphone) with the supertrapp discs. With the number of discs I bought it was ok, quite loud, but ok on power etc. When I went down to as few as one discs testing it, one discs ran like crap but still seemed to make a lot of noise.Three discs ran okay, and was quieter than six, but it certainly didn't make it 'quiet' by any means. Has anyone had a Disc system that made the machine literally 'quiet'?

"Our spark arrestors are USFS approved and will work in the DS650 slip on. The quiet core does come with a spark arrestor."
