Like I said ... Take it for what you will ! I Know that my GPS is on the money by using it while driving down the road. I can hit the upper 70s any time on flat surfaces ( not sand ) and constantly get the same reading, so I can only assume it correct.
If you know much about how GPS works or how its prone to a mis-read than you need to take the 88mph with a grain of salt. It has read out that I have been to 92mph before and I can assure you that it WAS NOT a 92mph run. So once again ...... take it for what you will.
D.R.650 how did you clock your speed? radar gun ? GPS? ...
I would be curious to find out what other people have been able to max out at with a GPS on board ???? any takers ?????
One thing I might add ... 22" rears , one tooth over on the front and 34 on the rear and 45 +/- horse power isnt going to get you the top speed that the gearing calculator claims. I would guess that one would run out of HP before pushing those gears to the end.

that was on hard pack with nobbies. My GPS is right on. I have checked with my trucks many different times. If you have a stock bike it might be hard to hit 8500rpm in 5th gear. That speed was with my stage II with the RW CDI. All I know if that I want to go 0-60 fast as hell and don't even want to be on my quad going over 80mph. Seach for gearing calculator it should pop up on yahoo. Check the treads I know it is out there. I think Marky has it on his web site.
